Signs of a poor first page. [R]

Amazing first page: Twilight. No, for real. Have you read the prologue?

Rest of the story is incredibly meh, but read that first line to a room full of people and ask them if they would read on. Then tell them it's from Twilight.

Hollywood Reporter: "Filmart: Can Japan Make Anime Great Again?" Aka, the "anime is dying" narrative is once more being megaphoned. [R]

>So what you are saying is, people who watch it like it.

What I'm saying is that, if something is "famously shit," then the "famous" part should actually manifest somewhere besides a minority of people whining about something they don't like being highly regarded by so many other people.

Nice cherry-picking, but if you want to make an apples-to-apples comparison, try using the same format (e.g. TV/movies, rather than books), if not the same reviewer sites. In this case, we have only one, but it's the best point of comparison:

  • IMDB gave the first Twilight movie a weighted 5.2/10, based on just over 350,000 user ratings.

>People like SAO because it offers a premise that appeals to them more than for its quality. That's my impression anyway.

If that were the case, then they wouldn't like it once they realized that the premise alone didn't make up for the perceived lack of quality, and would presumably rate it accordingly.

This may not be a sick freestyle aerial goal, but it made me much more proud of myself than anything I've achieved ingame :) [R]

Austerity Will Leave Us Crying ’96 Tears’ | Extremely rich people don’t send their kids to public schools, visit public parks or ride public transit. These wealthy folks don’t need public services and resent having to pay taxes to support them. Austerity works for these wealthy Americans. [R]

Here, I have some reading material that might interest you. The writing is a bit higher level than Rand but the message isn't too different. Check it out.
