If you read The Everything Store it explains how he ended up being identified as a super smart kid. It's actually a good read. I read it on Audible a while back. http://www.amazon.com/The-Everything-Store-Bezos-Amazon/dp/0316219266

Having read "The Everything Store", I expect Amazon to ratchet up the pressure no the book publishers until an agreement is reached. It will be interesting to see the tactics Amazon uses to pressure the book publishers.

Ooooo, a poorly researched article.

>One of the books affected is Brad Stone’s The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon, a book that Amazon apparently didn't like much. Amazon has listed it as “unavailable” on its website. (Readers, however, seem to like the book—it currently has a 4.5 star rating.)

Yea, actually it's perfectly avaliable, the link goes to the Paperback version which Amazon DOES NOT STOCK. HOWEVER, they DO STOCK the hardcover which you can just click and buy here: http://www.amazon.com/Everything-Store-Jeff-Bezos-Amazon/dp/0316219266/ref=tmmhrdswatch0?encoding=UTF8&sr=1-1&qid=1400825478

O look at that they even have a kindle version!

The link in the article was specifically crafted to filter only Amazon selling the book, i.e. no used/new books. If you navigate to the book properly: http://www.amazon.com/Everything-Store-Jeff-Bezos-Amazon/dp/0316251798/ref=tmmpapswatch0?encoding=UTF8&sr=1-1&qid=1400825478

You see multiple used and new soft cover books without the filter. Amazon isn't blocking shit, they just aren't stocking the ONE VARIANT of the book.

The Everything Store is pretty explicit about this.
