Precious Renters and Pet Odor [R]2 years, 10 months agoArizonaLad posted submission on HomeImprovement.

So my fiancé and I just moved into a new home that we are renting. As it turns out the people before us had pets. When we moved in they had left behind fleas and a noticeable pet odor. We have had the fleas taken care of professionally but even after vacuuming and carpet Glade and shampooing with pet strength cleaner, there is still an odor.
Any suggestions for neutralizing permanently?
The house is a small three bedroom one story with the smell being central to the living room.

Your call if you want to drop this problem in the landlord's lap or not. It really is his problem, and not yours.
That being said, if you want to handle this yourself, one thing to try would be an enzyme product, such as Nature's Miracle. Breaks down the odor causing compounds, eliminating them permanently. Trouble is, this does not work immediately. You are relying on a biological action, and may take a few days to handle all the compounds:
Dog decided he'd pee on the carpet. Best way to clean? [R]2 years, 10 months agotortus posted submission on HomeImprovement.

Nature's Miracle is essential. It will break down the urine. Otherwise your dog will still be able to smell it and may decide it's ok to pee there again.
7 month old pitbull terrier mix not getting the hang of house training [R]3 years, 5 months agoyyaaaaaasss posted submission on Dogtraining.

I recently adopted a small pitbull terrier mix who is just now approaching 7 months old. This guy has incredible amounts of energy which I would have no problem with if I could just get him to handle not peeing in the house.
A typical day for him starts at 7-730 in the morning. I share a house with 2 other roommates so I keep his crate in my room. I take him out immediately after I get dressed for a half an hour. I usually have to race to the door to prevent him from peeing in the house, sometimes even carrying him downstairs because he somehow knows not to pee when Im holding him. If I'm not fast enough he will pee in the house, sometimes right in front of the door as we're about to go out.
When we get back, I give him some food and water and then he spends the rest of the day in the crate (I know, I hate it too) until I get home from work. Then it's out for an hour or so on a long walk to and from the dog park. He'll usually poop a couple times and pee various times during these walks. However, at night when we're back home and he's doing his thing and I'm relaxing, he will intermittently pee in the house. I take him out every hour or so, but sometimes even that doesn't work. I bring treats with me and I reward him when he pees outside and I can see him making the connection between the two, but it just doesn't seem to carry over inside the house. Sometimes I think Im just being impatient, but it's been almost a month since I got him already. Also I'm having trouble identifying any sort of sign that he needs to go - I have to watch him like a hawk when we're hanging out...
On the plus side, our floors have never been mopped and cleaned with such regularity...
Can anyone help me clean a "stain" off my cloth car seat? Yea, I'm having 'that' kind of morning... [R]3 years, 6 months agoomnired44 posted submission on CrohnsDisease.

Didn't make it through the commute today unfortunately. I've shit my pants plenty of times, but this time it was particularly very watery, and managed to get on my car seat while I was driving.
Not much for the most part, but I've never had to clean my car seat before.
Does anyone have any idea on how I can do this?
I was thinking warm water + Tide & deep scrubbing. But I feel there may be a better way.
