dude idk, sell em and buy 3 people you like these bluetooth headphones that I use: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Headphones-Wireless-Cancelling/dp/B015IEW1AY

Not only do they sound good, but they have a mic for phone calls, a pause button, back and forward, volume control, and you won't lose them the second they fall out of your ears.

edit: LMAO I triggered the airpod fanbois. I'm not saying these are better, but christ, there ARE better alternatives that aren't apple.

These headphones help me. Kids crying doesn't hurt, and the wireless means no cord out of the way. Audio books and music help pass the time, and give you something to think about other than the depressing 'why can't I make you happy!?!'.

I am an engine builder, constantly in oil, solvent, lacquer etc etc. Lota of chemicals, lots of putting in the ear and taking back out. Constantly misted on by water and I’ve never had a problem, close to having these for 7 months. As long as you remember to charge them every night, they’ll last 10+ hours. Haven’t needed them longer than that My Samsung’s died after 4 months of use.

Best bluetooth headset without breaking the bank? [R]

1 year, 8 months agobat1939 posted submission on bluetooth.
Jan. 11, 2018

I'm on the hunt for the best bluetooth earpiece I can find within budgetary reason. I don't need anything super fancy, most of my calls will be made in an office setting with a few other co-workers making calls around me but nothing too loud. Searching on Amazon is sketchy, as a lot of the reviews look to be faked. I was hoping someone here may have some recommendations.

I don't need all kinds of fancy stuff, just plenty of volume and maybe noise canceling. I don't want the caller to hear other colleagues talking around me, unless this technology is crazy expensive for some reason.

Talk time doesn't need to be insane, but I work in 8 hour shifts and not even half of that time is spent on the phone.

Past earpieces I've tried have let a lot of background noise into the phone call, and I can't have that.

Overall, I'm just looking for a budget earpiece that will get the job done in my environment.

Thanks for the help!

> Mpow Jaws v4.1

Yea, I'm a fan of these too, here is an Amazon link to MPOW Jaws to have a look.

The heatset sits around the neck, so you don't have to worry about putting away the buds when you aren't listening, just drop them into the magnetic holders. I really wasn't sure how I would like wearing something like this (really only got it intending to have it on while using), but they are so lightweight that I frequently forget I even have them on, so I pretty much wear them most of the time (usually tucked under a shirt collar to keep them out of sight), and pop them in when needed.

Reliability has been a bit of an issue, as I have had one of the buds go out in two different sets in about 18 months (once after they received an accidental yank, and the other after falling asleep while wearing). Normally I wouldn't keep going back to the same product again, but I really just like everything else about these, and at just $20 a pair, I can justify replacing them.

BT buds to match the included AKG's [R]

i'm currently using Mpow around the neck BT headphone i got from Amazon($20). I've had these for a week and i'm impressed. Call quality & sound are great. But the main reason for getting these is they get 13 hours of battery life. I listen to Iheartradio from 6am - 3:30pm all day at work. So they've lived up to the 4star rating they get on amamzon.

Listening to music while ridding [R]

I tried using my phone while in my jersey and that kinda blows. I put on headphones and took them out as soon as I reached the road since I can’t hear what is going on around me. We have seen bone conducting headphones on Amazon but I have never used them. What do you use to listen to music while ridding?

1 year, 11 months agoI_Hate_Humidity posted on bicycling.
Sept. 25, 2017

I use Mpow Jaws around-the-neck Bluetooth headphones! Since it's wireless and around-the-neck, it's really easy to use them with just a single earbud in (right ear so you can hear passing traffic on the left).

I saw a guy wearing Aftershokz Titanium headphones and he was cool enough to let me try them! Bone conduction is pretty interesting, but the sound quality didn't seem that great... But as the technology progresses, I definitely see myself purchasing a pair!

Motorcycle earbuds for hearing protection! Advice! [R]

2 years, 3 months agoMcFeely_Smackup posted submission on motorcycles.
June 7, 2017

Hi all!

Looking for the best headphones I can get to protect my hearing while on the motorcycle and then for use while at work making phone calls.

Motorcycle - Running a full akra system on FZ-07 with baffle out and always wearing full face helmet.

Was considering Westone CR10's but am disappointed I can't get a mic on the headphone cord (so I can use them while at work making phone calls) and then head out on the bike and hook up to a SENA system. (waiting on SENA 10C EVO!)

This started as a motorcycle only system, but after opening up to a $250+ setup, I realized it'd be stupid to not have it work for my at work setup as well. (replacing iphone earbuds)

Will gladly get custom molded if needed!

Thanks reddit!

I wear a set of bluetooth Mpow Jaws under my helmet. for $20 they isolate road noise beautifully and give full bluetooth audio and phone control.

I've been tempted to try the bose noise cancelling version, but at 15 times the price I'm just not sure they're worth it.

Those of you that are getting the dex [R]

Have you heard of the sentio superbook? It's a laptop with no internals besides the capability to turn any android or Windows phone into a laptop. Instead of having your sex rendered useless when you upgrade in two years, it can upgrade with your phone. I really did want the dex, but I already have a nice desktop and it's not very portable. I'm waiting a bit longer to make sure it's as good as it seems, but it definitely beats buying a Chromebook like I was planning on doing only because I need a laptop for college. Anyways, just thought I'd let you know about this as there are other options out there.

Quoting another post I just made:

Reasons:

  • DeX turns the S8 into a mini-switch where you can play mobile games or emulate old games (Gameboy, gamecube, etc.)

  • DeX turns any screen with an HDMI port into a smart TV with a browser.

  • DeX is a chromebox/chromebit that costs the same price, auto-syncs with your phone, actually runs microsoft office, and can use your data instead of wifi only.

  • DeX charges your phone, so you can use it as a pseudo-wireless dock.

Does your office have a TV in the lounge? Plug in DeX to watch youtube on your lunch break.

Sitting alone in that auto-shop lounge for hours with some crappy news station playing while they work on your car? Watch some netflix or play LoZ: Windwaker in full screen glory.

Want a nice TV in your bedroom, bathroom, livingroom, kitchen, but don't want to splurge on a smart TV? DeX.

Are you a student who likes to work in campus computer labs/libraries but hates using the slow school computers and doesn't want to buy a bulky and expensive laptop? Plug DeX into one of those fucking monitors man.

At some dumb hotel thinking, "Wow I paid for a 50 inch TV in this room but the cable fucking blows here"? And then you remember you have a hockey puck of miracles named DeX in your bag.

Want an awesome Smart TV/game system/computer in your 1999 Model#: Used-Piece-of-Shit car? Bolt a monitor to your car seat, throw a 12v powerbrick in the back seat and shove DeX in a cupholder.

My personal favorite? The way I'll be using it most of the time? I love my dual monitors, but my computer isn't the highest end thing. The dual monitors put unnecessary stress on the GPU when I'm gaming on a single screen. I've often thought to myself, "I wish I had a cheap second computer I could plug in to my side monitor to use it for game guides/steam/youtube/etc without impacting the performance of my game." Or maybe you have a great GPU and instead you've thought to yourself, "I love having steam/guides/youtube open on my second monitor, but I wish I could have text messages or phone calls show up there too." With DeX, both of those things are possible.

Think outside the box a little.

And follow up comment response:

> if you have it plugged into the dock connected to the TV you have to get up anytime you get a call

That's where you're wrong kiddo. All you need is whatever cheap ass bluetooth headset you can find. Remember the S8 has BT 5.0, which means shitloads of range and you can connect two devices at once, such as a bluetooth headset and a trackpad keyboard.

You can look up videos that show a bit of the interface (I like it) and capabilities (The same as your phone mostly, with some altered apps and a built in fan to make up for the bigger screen).

Edit: I think this Superbook looks pretty cool though. I might buy it instead, but it's going to depend on the reviews and such. Very little information on it, it seems, and obviously a kickstarter is less secure than Samsung.

Recommend Accessories/Gadgets? [R]

2 years, 5 months agoBravadorado posted submission on GalaxyS8.

Do you have any recommendations what else to get for the S8+?

  • USB-C cables (Sasmung & Choetech)
  • USB-C Charger (Sasmung & Choetech)
  • USB-A to USB-C converter (Samsung)
  • Cases (to test them and keep the best)
  • Power bank (Anker)
  • Sleeve (Alcantara)
  • Bluetooth Game Controller (which holds the phone, have to check them, too)
  • micro SD card (128GB from Samsung)
  • Stand for watching clips
  • USB-Stick with USB-A and USB-C connector
  • SD Card Reader with USB-A and USB-C connector
  • Sleeve-like Case for small things like earbuds, USB converter etc.
  • Bluetooth photo shutter
  • Bluetooth Speaker (Samsung Level mini)
  • Google Chromecast (to stream anything to a TV)
  • Smartwatch (Pebble Round)

I don't want/need wireless charger/dock and I'm not a VR fan

I think I forget something, so it would be cool to hear what you ordered or maybe already have, which you want to use with your S8/S8+

Thanks

EDIT 1: added stuff which I found at home, maybe as an inspiration :D

EDIT 2: Stuff people mentioned in here:

  • (Magnetic) car mount
  • Car charger
  • Dex or HDMI cable (to plug it into a big screen)
  • Smartwatch
  • Sport armband (for running)

This one, This one, this one, and even this one all have around 2.5 hours of continuous battery life at full volume, and they're all 3 - 5 times as expensive as comparable headphones. In addition, their battery life slowly drains over time even when not in use (edit: this is true of all rechargeable batteries, I believe). You have to be obsessive about charging the things because if you don't charge them in anticipation of going to the gym or doing some shopping for a few hours, then the battery dies and you can't listen to music or podcasts anymore. Not to mention, wireless headphones serve no purpose. There is absolutely no reason to buy them unless your headphone jack dies like mine did. They're garbage hipster bullshit that only exists so companies can sell you something pointless at a higher price so you think you look cool.

Highly Rated Bluetooth Headphone for $26:

Highly Rated Bluetooth Speaker for $36:

Highly Rated Bluetooth Car Adapter for $30:

If you can afford $650 for a new phone, you can probably afford an extra $30 to cut the cord. Unless you’re an audiophile, this is a total non-issue.

I like the new Jaybird Freedom ones because they're not bulky, got some cool features, but the battery life is eh without the extra charging pack which I can see getting annoying overtime.
