Life Flo Pure Rosehip Seed Oil

Mizon Snail Repairing Foam Cleanser

De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment

Beauty products are really pricey in Jordan, but I found this boutique that has a team of people bringing stuff from the US, and the prices are quite good! I have combination acne prone skin, and with things being pretty stagnant over the past few years (skin not getting worse, but not improving, some no makeup days, other days a couple of huge pimples at once), I'm going to experiment with some new products, starting with these!

If you're new to SkincareAddiction: welcome!

This thread is the best place to start if you have questions about skincare products, your routine, and your skin. Our community is knowledgeable, and we want to help you have the best skin of your life!

Do you have a question?

Step 1: Read our resources

First take a look at our FAQ and Wiki! They include product recommendations and advice for skin concerns like acne, pigmentation, and dehydrated skin. You might find a solution to your problem there!

If you can't find an answer, or you have additional questions after reading, please move on to step 2!

Step 2: Ask for help

To give you the best advice possible, our users need relevant information about your skin and skincare. With your request for help please include:

  • The issue(s) you need help with.

  • Skin type. It's OK to be subjective, how do you feel your skin is? Oily, dry? If you need help clarifying, check out this guide on skin types

  • Current routine with the full names of your products (try to separate it in to Morning, Evening, and Occasionally used)

  • How long you have been using your current routine, or product in question

  • Anything new you’ve introduced or started doing that might change the condition of your skin

  • Your location so we can recommend products/services available to you

Thanks for taking the time to include your information!

Would you like to give advice?

Firstly, thank you so much for helping out our community, without your knowledge and time ScA would not be the same!

Some things we'd ask for you to keep in mind: please don't just downvote someone's opinion or response because you disagree.

If you can, please take the time to tell them why you think their advice may be incorrect or harmful. It's better for people to understand why something is a poor choice, instead of just being told that it is one.

Rosehip seed oil is not expensive unless you are using it in large quantities for OCM. As a moisturizer, you only need like 3 drops at a time. [This is the one] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MMOVOQ) I've used for years. The price fluctuates between $5 to $8. Squalane is an oil that has become very popular lately. I haven't tried it myself, but if you do a board search you'll see tons of people talking about it. It is also not expensive. I really can't tell you which one won't break you out... maybe try the squalane since it is more supposedly more moisturizing?

Hydrating toners are more common and popular in Asian skincare. One of the most popular is Hada Labo. In the west, they just started showing up in the past couple years. A hydrating toner is mostly purified water, no alcohol, and contains hydrating ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid. On the label it will just say toner. Unfortunately it's up to you to figure out that it is a hydrating toner (versus an astringent toner). I'm thinking maybe moisturizers break you out because they are too thick, so maybe something thinner like this will work better

Welcome to our alliterative and regularly reoccurring thread for discussing all things skincare!

Suggestions for relevant and educational activities:

Venting about a trend in one of the skincare subs. Sharing research or information on products or ingredients. Asking for or giving advice on products, routines, or non medical skin issues. Ranting and raving about skincare items you've been experimenting with. Shouting "Fuck this" or "Hallelujah" about the current state of your skin. Don't forget to share any relevant info about your skin type if you're sharing your experiences with a product, and if you're asking for advice or recommendations please include your budget and general location so we can give you better help.

I use Life Flo Rosehip Oil and it's been insanely moisturizing for me (almost greasy if I use more than 2-3 drops). I haven't used their rosehip oil but I've had issues with TO products in the past. Their products honestly just don't do anything for me :/ I would maybe try a different brand of rosehip oil and see if that works. I have oily skin too and I love rosehip oil, but it's never made my skin drier.

  • Build Me A Routine, r/AsianBeauty! If you need assistance with your routine and need help with adding a product or two or understanding routine order, that’s fine. Please refrain from just stating a skin concern then expecting people to build a routine from scratch. It is important to do due diligence in understanding your skin type and needs.

  • Non-AB questions or comments. Having non-AB products in your routine is totally fine! Getting specific advice/recommendations on a non-AB product not so much

  • Rude comments and snark. Fairly self explanatory but for more detail, check out our Posting Guidelines

  • When directing someone to the sidebar: provide specific links. I.e. for someone asking about Allergies or Beginner Guides, link them to the specific subsections within AB University, rather than saying ‘it’s in the sidebar.’

  • Finally, a reminder that no one is obligated to answer your questions. If you've repeatedly asked the same question without a response, it may be best to review and see if it can be reworded or if the information is readily available in the sidebar materials. If you have any questions, please contact the moderators.

I've purchased this recently and I've been using it every night. I use the one from Life-Flo, which is nearly $5 for 1 oz of product.

I use it at night, after my moisturizer.

While it is too soon to tell if it has helped with my PIE, it has plumped up my skin. When I wake up, my skin feels smooth, soft, and supple. Zero flakes and adverse reactions.

does anyone here use rosehip oil? [R]

I've heard some good things about it for extra moisture and PIH but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea for dry, sensitive skin on Retin-a. Any thoughts?

Its a dry oil (absorbs quickly) and is good for most skin types. Its my favourite oil - it brightens and evens out skin over time, and plays well with tret cream. If you decide to try it, try Lifeflo brand - its usually never more than $10 on Amazon. Make sure you store it in the fridge!

I order from Amazon. It's really inexpensive and I am very happy with the brand. I think a lot of the pure oils are wildly over-priced (Josie Maran, I'm looking at you... Same with Tarte....) Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Life-Flo-Organic-Pure-Rosehip-Ounce/dp/B006MMOVOQ/ref=pdbianavt1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1WEC8F2H8G1BPFNXNFKQ

Another good oil for more oily, acne prone skin is maruca. Shea Terra is a lovely brand and they make a very high quality option. Garden of Wisdom also gets good reviews, but unfortunately their site is blocked from the country I'm in. :(
