Nope, you defo were not, it was all him... I know very little about PC stuff too but I cant deal with people like that guy no matter how much they know. I love 1050/1050tis, think they are great cards and would totally recommend one for your set up, had one for a while in my living room 1080 rig. I have 12gb of ram that I think may fit... think its this stuff... https://www.amazon.com/Hynix-PC3-12800-1600MHz-Unbuffered-HMT351U6CFR8C-PB/dp/B00A8M768E Send me your address and I'll send it off to ya for free, if it works paypal me a beer.
Hope you're not in hospital for anything too serious!

Alright so my pc is starting to stutter on low-demand games and crash during work on audacity. My current build is:
CPU- i7 2600 GPU- r9 Fury RAM- 6gb DDR3
she's an old rig but she's held up for a while. I was looking to replace parts basically swapping the ram out to 16gb DDR4 and the CPU to an i5 7th gen. Looking online I found this https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-refurbished-pavilion-desktop-intel-core-i5-16gb-memory-amd-radeon-r7-450-1tb-hard-drive-hp-finish-in-twinkle-black/5901221.p?skuId=5901221 prebuilt. It would cost me about the same to go for this and I would get the parts I need but I can't find much on the form factor of this case and I want to be sure my current GPU will fit inside without any issue and be compatible.

Gotcha, thanks for the notification, my inbox is blowing up right now, haha.
Yeah from what I'm seeing there I'm only confirming my diagnosis: you need an SSD boot drive (if only to speed up your pagefile) and some RAM and you'll be just fine.
Your drives aren't old enough to be throwing significant errors, interestingly: only showing about one and a half years' worth of total "on" time based on the SMART data and there are no reallocated or pending sectors. So their only problem is that they're just slow storage: that's not bad but isn't great.
What is interesting is the rig shows you were using basically half your RAM while idle typing up a reply to me. Yeah; Chrome needs a lot; but load up a game next to that and that 3 gigs vanishes and things start going to the pagefile, and our problem starts.
That page also shows us your existing RAM is a 2gb stick of Hynix and a 4gb stick of this amazon link. I think you see where I'm going. That 2gb stick needs to go if we're going to mess with RAM.
First move? this SSD (or one like it if you have brand loyalty to WD or Corsair or someome. I like ADATA just fine). If you want more solid-state storage, go for it, but that's more than enough for Windows. Second move? replacing that 2gb stick.
I think your rig will serve you just fine for your uses with those changes. Yeah: you can upgrade it all and get a new prebuilt and slap in your card, and it's not a bad idea honestly, but why not squeeze the rest of the life we can out of this one? When it comes time to upgrade to a new build later, the SSD we bought can go in the new rig just fine. $20-30 sunk cost to extend the life of this system? I'll take it.

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Purely for GTA 5 (might play other games maybe)
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
1920x1980 monitor, 60 fps. Video settings can be mid to high.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
200 ish $
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please)..
Sorry, I read rule and tried make draft by pcpartpicker. But boards, cpu not found there. Probably because of it's quite old now.
CPU: i3 2100
Board: P8H61-M LE
RAM: DDR3 4GB
Provide any additional details you wish below.
My little brother asked me upgrade his very old processor. His only wish is play GTA 5.

Not sure if you have an extra RAM slot or what model the current RAM is. Best to get the same one to ensure compatibility.

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:
- Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
- I'm thinking of getting a GTX 970. Which one should I get?
- I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case < $50

I'm looking to upgrade from 8gb ddr3 to 16gb. Now I have the option of upgrading the current number of ram sticks from two off-brand 4 gb ddr3 1600mhz sticks to four. However I can buy entirely new 2x8gb sticks, but they will be more expensive. Should I just pay the $50 for the two additional sticks or just get new ones? I've been using my current sticks for ~2-3years with no problems.
Freezing issues with RAM in both slots [R]3 years, 10 months agocagey_tiger posted submission on hackintosh.

I tried installing Yosemite on a small PC I had built for home use after reading up about Hackintoshs. Low and behold, it worked fantastically pretty much off the bat with Unibeast/Multibeast in Legacy mode as long as I don't install USB3 drivers - they seem to work anyway.
- i5 4570 (with a 4790k in the wings waiting for stability)
- Gigabyte Mini-ITX GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 (latest Firmware)
- Intel Graphics
- Firewire 800 Expansion Card
- RT2870 WiFi
- 8GB RAM
The mobo only has 2 slots for RAM being a mini, as soon as I drop in the 2nd stick of 8GB (matched) I get random freezes. I've ran memtest with Rember and the RAM it's self throws no errors, and some times runs for hours, sometimes 1-2 minutes. I increased the voltage to the RAM and this seems to fix the problem - until I mess around with a USB port which instantly freezes the system. I pull out the 2nd stick and all goes back to being rock solid, whatever I do to it, it's flawless.
The RAM was taken from a separate system that has been working fine for over a year, I don't believe the actual RAM is the issue.
Does any one have any ideas? Is there a way for me to log the freeze? I never get any kernel panics (or the writing over the screen everyone else seems to have with an issue).

Need help with RAM compatibility [R]4 years agoApril 3, 2016
Current I have two of those: https://files.catbox.moe/pmx9zn.jpg (2x4GB)
I want to add 2x4GB more and I'm looking for this memory: http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/?partid=KVR16N11S8K2/8
Will my system work stable and without any issues? Because there are different manufacturers and latency are different. Motherboard is MSI Z87-G43, CPU 4770K

I looked at the screenshot you gave for the part number of your RAM. Googling it sent me here: http://www.amazon.com/Hynix-PC3-12800-1600MHz-Unbuffered-HMT351U6CFR8C-PB/dp/B00A8M768E
That is exactly your current RAM!
But if you like the other ones, a quick Google says that they'll be fine.

Had 16GB. Used half for wife's desktop. Miss having 16gb.
Would like to buy 8GB more so I can have 16gb again. Speed is not a huge concern. Inexpensive is ideal.

Hm. Well first, here's a timestamp: http://imgur.com/sS9YBD4
Amazon product page with the same part number: http://www.amazon.com/Hynix-PC3-12800-1600MHz-Unbuffered-HMT351U6CFR8C-PB/dp/B00A8M768E
Their website: http://www.skhynix.com/en/index.jsp
From my experience I think they generally produce some stock memory modules for machines. When I replaced the memory in my laptop with, it also had Hynix straight from the factory. It's also been the most reliable part in my desktop, until this point, though that's usually the case for RAM.
