Hoppe's No.9 Lubricating Oil, mainly for the super convenient applicator tip.

If i flip heavy its at least once a week, normally i can tell when my bali needs more lube. I'm a big fan of Hoppe's 9 lubricating oil, you can get a 15ml bottle with a nice applicator tip for like $8 on amazon.

Here is the link if you want it

Put some lube on it. Any type will do; I use Hoppe's #9 mostly because I like the applicator tip on the bottle.

Even WD-40 will do in a pinch, though it's discouraged since it will get dirty quickly. Whatever you end up using, just put a drop on each side of each pivot then swing the handles back and forth a bit to work it in there. You could put a drop on the latch too if that's squeaking.

This is my number one go-to lubricant. You can loosen the pivot screws as well, but you may run the risk of breaking the loctite and having the screws fall out.

Mine does the same thing in the same spot.

I use Hoppes #9 Lubricating Oil on all my multitools. Great stuff. I advise against WD-40. Although it does work, and does lubricate, it also seems to attract a lot of dirt and smell like WD40 for quite a while. Hoppes or any high-viscosity gun lubricant works best.

So.. Which lube do you use? [R]

Hi guys.

My printer's running out of lubrication on its metal rods. It used to have some grease on it.. But pretty much gone. What would be recommended to use? Vaseline or something else? (I live in Belgium, so preferably something I can find in stores here). Would PTFE spray be any good, perhaps? That didn't seem to work quite well on it...

I am talking about these

Hoppes #9 oil with precision dropper is great as well. I use this stuff all over the house -- it's great.

Best lubricant for balisongs [R]

I haven't been lubricating my pivots like I'm supposed to (shame on me) and I figured it was high time to start doing so.

I've heard of many different types of lubricants to keep balisongs in shape including Militec-1, Tuff Glide, Benchmade blue lube, and Tri-Flow.

What lubricants do you guys use, and do you have any recommendations as to what to get and what to avoid?

I use Hoppe's #9 Lubricating Oil. I really enjoy it for it's applicator which is really thin and precise and does not spill even if you tip it over. One downside is that it's easy to break off.

I would stay away from WD40. It works just fine, but it attracts dirt easily. Also, stay away from olive oil LOL.

So the next three days are filed with drinking and family. Only one of these things is good, and it involves four fingers of rye at a time. May your holidays be more pleasant than mine.

Lube or oil & where? [R]

5 years, 8 months agoINEEDMILK posted submission on Glocks.
Dec. 23, 2013

Edit: And yes, I did watch the Glock Cleaning Basics, that answered quite a few of my questions, but I am still curious as to people's suggestions & advice. I have Slide Glide & I'm going to be ordering Ballistol if I don't get it for Christmas. :)!

I was thinking about lube/oiling up my Glock before I go out to the range again. I somewhat know where the lubrication parts are from the manual & a few pictures online, but I'm curious. The various lubrication points on the slide, is Slide Glide sufficient?

Can I use the same stuff around the barrel? When lubricating around the barrel, how much do I use? I've heard a good way of determining how much is just enough for you to place a fingerprint.

Are there any specific parts to avoid lubricating &/or oiling? I know I must avoid lubricating the guide rod. I do think I might spray a cleaner like Ballistol on it as I want to make sure it's clean & to get rid of an annoying squeak that's there when I rack the slide.

Any suggestions are welcome, from which lubrication/oils I should use, what to avoid, etc. For reference, the gun is a Glock G17.

I use FrogLube, but any mainstream product will be fine.

Put one tiny drop on each of the 4 frame rails (I use this filled with FL), one drop in the recess of the locking lug, one drop on the barrel hood, and finally one drop on the barrel itself which I spread around.
