What holds you at your MMR? [R]

Press brought up this quote today during one of our games.

"It is not your teammates that are keeping you at 1k MMR. Its your shit farming patterns, its your inefficient movement, its your bad stacking. Its all of these things. You're not using your mana correctly, you're not getting value out of your mana. You skillbuilds are awful" - Purge @ 45:26

That got me thinking about why I'm at my current skill level but it's pretty basic (Don't have a mmr and probably won't have one for a long time).

I'm a psychopath. Not seriously but I have zero hesitation when it comes to diving five people or towers, hell I was thinking about what holds me back seconds before tower diving at two minutes. If I get a kill it's worthwhile, surviving is just a bonus.

This means I can not hold onto a lead, I'll never go godlike :( Further more I'm not efficient at using my time, I don't stack as much as I should, don't farm between ganks. Focus on farming too much and not ganking or the ganking to much and relying on kill gold.

I don't smoke gank (CUS WARDS ARE DUMB AND SO AM I). I don't explain what I'm doing to my teammates so they can't prepare. I don't speak in teamfights. I use big skills without warning my team (Song, Blackhole, etc). I don't say a word when diving (ZERO HESITATION). I rely on them to make mistakes.

There are so many reasons why I'm a low skill level.

That's why I'm a low skill level. So what keeps you at your MMR? Go into detail and maybe someone can help you.

Cheers to /u/pressthepig who's deff asleep right now or should be...

Here's a solution.

Spray this on any length of cable he can get to, and he should stop eventually due to the bad taste.

EDIT: Pun unintended.

Also dogs are the best.

This is the one I bought it's marketed for dogs, at least the spray bottles are, the cat one is like a little eye dripper bottle that isn't really good for coverage.

[Contest] Packers vs. Vikings ya'll!! [R]

This contest is closed. Rumpleandbelle is the winner!!

I just love the Packers. They rock. The Vikings don't rock no matter what anyone says.

Link something from your wishlist that's under $10 that you think rocks.

You have 24 hours (approximately). Go!

Edit: I'm sorry mods!! I didn't know about the wishlist link spam issue with reddit...any further entries don't need to include a wishlist link, just tell me which list your 'rockin' item is on!! :)

Go sportsball!

Bitter apple rocks because it'll keep Pepper from trying to ingest the couch. It can't be good for her tummy.

Thanks for the contest!

Advice on Cat Biting? [R]

5 years, 5 months agoaddywoot posted submission on AskVet.
May 22, 2014

I recently took in a stray cat when she had kittens in my parents' yard. She is now spayed, vaccinated, & dewormed. Her kittens have all found homes. She is estimated to be 3-5 years old.

Prior to me taking her in, she had been living outdoors for at least 9 months, likely longer. Since she's been with me, she seems very bored (I don't let her outside). I have a variety of toys that she enjoys and I play with her daily. There is no amount of playing that is too much. She loves chasing string toys or feathers on a wand.

The problem is that she is constantly nipping and grappling/clawing my feet, ankles, calves, hands, and arms. She doesn't break the skin, but it does hurt. The biting often comes unannounced - she just sneaks up and starts biting. I feel like she is trying to play. I say "ow! and no!" and attempt to gently remove whatever area she is biting without it becoming a game. I try not give her any attention if she is biting (can be hard, as she doesn't give up easily) and if possible redirect with a toy.

I had hoped to rehome her but I am concerned about this behavior. As she is, she is not suitable to homes with kids. My original plan was to take her to our local no kill (except untreatable health or aggression issues) humane society. I am concerned that she'll be even more cooped up and more aggressive.

I also have the option to rehome her as an outdoor only cat (would have food/shelter/medical care but would not be allowed inside). Lastly, I am also considering keeping her but I am concerned that she might be better off in a home where she can be both indoor/outdoor and thus not have so much energy to spend biting people.

What can I do to help end the biting? I searched for a behaviorist locally but can't find one.

If her behavior is predictable, you can try a bitter spray on that body part (just don't expose yourself to the taste).

I've never had to use it because I was able to work with the biting behavior (which was different than the random attacking thing) but it's always been my backup plan.

The point is to make it immediately unpleasant to bite.

You may (MAY) be inadvertently rewarding the behavior if you're redirecting. Essentially, that's saying.. hey.. if I bite.. I'll still get attention.

No attention.. kind of bored...

[Contest] Just limping along.... [R]

Closed- Winner is KittenAnne

Norma - member of the furry feline part of my family - has banged up a leg (See how grumpy she is right there?) and the prescription is more cowbe- err, taking it easy on the couch. But she's my shadow, my little insecure runt of the litter, so that means I can either get up and around and do stuff and she do her usual trailing around behind me with a messed up leg and limping, or we cuddle on the couch and she stays off it.

We all know couch cuddling has won out. So while I'm here, lets have a little flash contest for a little something something from your lists! But there's a catch. It has to be something for your furry family member!

  1. Must include the phrase "Even if the sky is falling down"
  2. Must be something for your family of the cat/dog/lizard/fish/bird/rodent etc etc persuasion. Fur, feather, scales, don't matter to me.
  3. Must be under 10 bucks - I have prime.
  4. If you like, show me a picture of your family member. We all love showing them off!

I'll pick someone in a couple hours!

Cat chewing wires and picking on my other cat. What do I do? [R]

6 years agoMa8e posted submission on Pets.
Oct. 21, 2013

My male cat is picking on the female. She has a big scratch on her face. What can I do to prevent or minimize their fighting? The male instigates the fights.

The male also chews on wires and I don't know how to make him stop he is either going to kill himself by getting shocked or he is just going to keep costing money from replacing wires.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Edit: I think boredom is a likely cause of the cat picking on the other. I really want to solve the wire chewing problem and don't know where to begin.

This bitter apple spray works very well for keeping our cats away from wires. Our male cat chews on any cable that isn't sprayed (and have ruined a couple of expensive earphones in the process) but doesn't touch any wire that is sprayed.

How do you guys stop your bun from doing this? [R]

I'm surprised no one has suggested apple bitters. It was made for dogs but a lot of people use it for cats, hamsters, rabbits, etc. I bought some 2 weeks ago. You spray it on items you don't want them to chew and he hasn't bitten anything since then. You just have to reapply it every couple of days until the bottle is gone.
