Bought a new monitor arm. I've now mastered the art of lazy-playing sideways on my bed while trying to master the art of big jumps. [R]

I have a AW3418DW on its way. My first ultra wide btw! 🙂

Anyone know of any good wall mount that fits this monitor?

Will any VESA mount fit this monitor?

To go off of u/Starbuckz42, If you are looking for a desk mount, this one is perfect since your monitor is 16lbs without the stand. I have been using it for several months on my X34, just gotta make sure the clamp is tightened or else you'll have some wobble.

If you are looking for a wall mount, Ergotron has another as well to suit your needs

I have the last version of this monitor and it's great. I haven't noticed any ghosting issues though I've never been too sensitive to stuff like that.

Mines VESA compatible. I have this mount Pricey but awesome. I actually have two and swing back and forth between the ultrawide and my 144hz monitor depending on what I'm playing.

My only complaint about this monitor is that it has a no signal power off with a ridiculously short timer. It turns off before my pc can finish restarting if it's set as my secondary. Pretty annoying.

Ergotech Freedom Arm for the adjustable mounts.

VideoSecu for the stationary mount.

Advice on replacing monitor? MG279Q vs U2715H vs PB278QR [R]

My main monitor just wen belly-up. I had 3, one in landscape in the middle, 2 in portrait, and I'm looking to replace the middle on (the other 2 next year).

  • 2560 x 1440 or higher resolution

  • vesa mount

Spent the day researching what monitor to buy, and reached this list:

  • display port, dual hdml

  • very high refresh rate

  • freesync works between 35 and 90 hz

    ~ looks "normal"

  • better looking than the others

  • 5 year warranty

  • slower response time than MG279Q

~ conflicting information, if it's ok or not

~ looks "normal"

34UM95 - worrysome

I also considered at first the LG 34" UltraWide 34UM95 but the large numbers of reviews that mention light bleed and other issues made me reconsider. I would love to find a great ultrawide but right now none conviced me. Maybe in a couple of years?

My primary use is programming with a little gaming from time to time.

I haven't used/seen any of these live so any advice from people that have / use / used / seen these is much appreciated.

Any other recommendation (a link is enough to get me started) is welcome, budget is 1000$, but I can stretch it a little higher if needed.

Thank you!

Wall mount:

The bleed is there like any other IPS but it isn't noticeable

Simple Questions - May 21, 2015 [R]

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
  • I'm thinking of getting a GTX 970. Which one should I get?
  • I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case < $50

Remember that IRC is a great place to ask quick questions as well:

I am using a wall mount Freedom Arm for exactly this purpose. Keep it under the 8.4lb limit and it feels like it'll last forever. I've been using mine for over a year yet could clean it and sell it as new. It's a "buy it for life...almost" product. You'll spend as much on 2 el cheapo's (like I did before buying this).

There is a wall mount version but it seems like it not on their site currently! This one is one of theirs that I found selling at Amazon, only 8 left!
