Great Rechargeable batteries for WMR controllers. [R]

When I first got my headset I could find any good recommendations for batteries so I thought I'd post about the ones I found. These are not too expensive( with an amazon coupon at time of posting) they are easy to charge and last a good long time. And because they are actually a full 1.5 volt instead of the 1.2 of most rechargeable they don't give you the low battery warning as soon as you put them in.

PS: To buy two sets with the coupon discount I had to do it in two orders.

What's the rechargeable set up for a standard Xbox One controller? [R]

I'm still using AAs like it's launch day and now that I got a new job, I want to invest in a convenient rechargeable device.

There's just so many options both officially and unofficially and a ton of articles with each one having a different top recommendation.

What's reddit's consensus? What do you use?

EDIT: Jeez did I get downvoted out the gate because I kept using batteries? It's the case of a poor person and shoes, guys. Sorry but I'm trying to make the switch now and want your opinions.

EDIT 2: Thanks for the positivity guys! The official Xbox play and charge wouldn't be for me because my Xbox is so far from where I game. The eneloop setup doesn't sound exactly like what I want but I'm going to go for it! Ordered a starter kit off amazon because you all had such positive feedback on it. My original desire was to get a setup sort of like my Switch where. because I have two sets of joycon, one controller is always charging while I'm playing. The eneloops seem like the best way to give me that level of convenience at the moment. Sad for no dock but what can you do.

Thanks guys! :)

I hear you, I did that for the first couple of years and a friend told me to make the investment on these Energizer bad boys. One of the best investments I've made so far, still using the same 4 batteries that I bought back in 2015. I bought 4 more as a luxury and now I never run out of battery life. These are extremely reliable batteries my friend.

Lifelong playstation user, recently picked up xbox one s for law school, controller question [R]

Hello,

So to start, i already have a ps4 pro but my little brother is keeping it when I go to law school. I wanted a 4k streaming device so it was between buying another ps4 pro or going with the xbox one s, and I absolutely love the design of the xbox one s, its the perfect size since I plan to take the console to dorm and then also back when i come home during breaks. and the only advantage the ps4 pro has design wise is if you need to fight off a burglar, or if you look at your tv stand and think "those shelves look a little too empty."

The xbox one s controller definitely has a much better feel to it when I hold it. However i do have a question about the battery. So based on my search of this subreddit the play and charge kit is a no-no for this controller. Is there a battery pack or set I can purchase that would allow me to plug the controller in the charger to the usb port of my macbook pro to charge? On the ps4 i can plug the charger into my macs usb port so i dont have to move in front of the tv. And please provide a link with the battery pack suggestion!

I just got 4 rechargeable AA kit with a charger, each run is good for about 2 weeks of 2-3 hours gaming per day. Something like that one -

Don't see a reason to invest with the kits.

Xbox wireless Controller for Windows 7 & best charging options? [R]

Looking for insight on best setup for controller gaming on PC. I attempted to go through Microsoft... their chat support was horrendous so I'm turning to the real support group that is Reddit. Couple things I'm looking for info on:

*Note: I do not own a console, just looking to get the controller setup for my PC. 1. I'm looking to use an Xbox (preferably One) controller wirelessly on my Windows 7 gaming rig for "lazy gaming" and racing on the couch. Xbox says it won't work with 7, YouTube and other sources say it will....

  1. There's several charging options, what is the preferred method? Just using AA batts? One of the infinite charging dock/battery combos? The "Play and charge" kit?

  2. Can the controller be connected to the PC via micro USB and function wired as well? If you get in a jam and the batteries are dead?

Hope you guys can help where Microsoft failed! Thanks in advance for any input!

Longtime PS4/PC player jumping to XBONE because Indie titles, worth it? [R]

2 years, 4 months agoFeb. 24, 2017

I'm a PC player mostly but definitely appreciated the ease, comfort, stability, and simplicity of a console, especially for couch co-op. I'm seeing games like Subnautica on XBONE and that Sony is not really supporting EA / Indie as much.. really making me think about jumping over to XBONE (or waiting for Scorpio?). Is it worth it or is the indie / EA scene on xbone not that different from PS4?

Edit: Should be "Because EA Titles", thanks for the replies.

That's why you have at least two sets. One set always fully charged in the wall charger, and the other set in your controller. It takes like 10-20 seconds to swap batteries.

Here's an Energizer set that includes a wall charger and four AA batteries for about $16. I used to use the Xbox One Play and Charge Kit, but it only has one pack, is more expensive ($25-$30), and I've found that those packs tend to wear down quicker than regular batteries. And there are a ton of people here who swear by Eneloop rechargeable batteries, but they're more expensive than the Energizer/Duracell options ($26-$36).

I would recommend this. I have been using it since 2012 and the batteries still work fine. If I charge overnight while i'm not playing I have rarely run out while playing. I play way too much xbox so the normal person should be fine as well. http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-Recharge-Rechargeable-Batteries-included/dp/B00IM3P8GS/ref=sr15?ie=UTF8&qid=1465140482&sr=8-5&keywords=energizer+aa+rechargeable

Best Rechargeable AA Batteries? [R]

What do y'all think are the best AAs for our controllers? I don't want to do play and charge or the Energizer charging packs. I've heard bad review for both. I've been spending so much and I was thinking that yall would know what to get!

Tl;Dr: need rechargeable AAs. Recommendations?

Edit: crowd poll shows Eneloops are the best choice. Ordered them and will arrive tomorrow. Thanks everyone!

Edit 2: Started using the Eneloops on Friday. Played about 16 hours on them with factory charge between gaming with Turtle beach headset and leaving the controller on to watch TV. Haven't had to change them yet. I'm really happy with them. 10/10 would recommend.

I have been using the same two batteries since Black ops 1. I just charge them overnight and they are good to go next time I play. I have never had to switch to a different pair in one session and I am someone who plays A LOT usually at least 6 hours a day.
