Does anyone have Cheap puzzle mat recommendations from amazon? [R]

These will be virtually unused. I'm looking for the once a month situation. The wife plans on working out on them as well. My price is less than 150$. 10' x 10' max size. Looking for very basic at first. If I can convince the wife we might start doing drills together and do a upgrade later.

You can try these from Lowes. I can't vouch for them (yet), but I'll be putting them in a basement play room for my almost 2 year old son. They should be adequate for infrequent light workouts. Each package covers a 4'x4' space. For 10'x10' you will need 7 packages, which will set you back $140. Lowes coupons are pretty easy to find on ebay if you don't have any handy so you can probably knock another $10-$20 off.

Sorry it's not an amazon product, but figured you may have a Lowes in your area. Home Depot has something that looks very similar for the same cost.

On Amazon I found these which are also $20 a pack, but they cover more square footage (24 sq ft vs 16 sq ft). So it will be cheaper for you. Reviews are pretty good, but I can't vouch for them.

Ok, so if you don't think you can eyeball it, that's perfectly fine. Your going to have to make a top view of Whisper and after you finish cutting out the side view of it, put the top view blueprint where it should be, trace major lines onto the foam, then cut roughly, sand it and make adjustments as needed. You can do this man, and don't be afraid to fuck up, it's your first time doing this, plus if you buy this kind of EVA foam then your fine cuz it's super cheap and u get shitloads for like 20 bucks. Edit: I used a 3D model of ingame thresh to make my blueprints accurate, so you could use a site like this to get a top view of the gun ( don't do this on mobile)

Hello, I am hoping to convert our 1.5 car garage into a hang out room. I am hoping to make part of it for our gym equipment, part of it as a guy's hangout room (old couch and coffee table will go there).

The main things I need to do are:

Do any of you have any recommendations on:

  • Paint color? My garage doesn't get much light so I'm aiming for a light color. I am somewhat averse to white paint because I'm afraid it will look too plain.

  • Cost effective place to find wall cabinets and EVA interlocking tiles?

I can add pictures of the garage later if that is helpful?

Thank you!

In case anyone is interested in what I used to build it

The mats are Exercise mats 2'x2'.

The lighting is an LED strip which is color changing. (I had to remove the light right above the mat, the led is pretty cool in room view)

[Help] Any suggestions for a kid-friendly Maui Fishhook build? [R]

2 years, 11 months agoMarch 5, 2017

Hello all. My son wants to do a Maui fishhook build. But he wants to be in on it (which means no sanding insulation foam or power tools).

Any suggestions for building one out of a kid friendly material?

He's four, so it doesn't have to be huge...but he wants it to be close to scale. I was thinking about papier mache perhaps. Maybe building most of the structure out of layers of cardboard, and then covering that over with paper mache and trying to shape that into the cylinder shape needed.

Is this a lunatic approach?

Has anyone done a tutorial for a kids build on this that I haven't seen in my googling searches?

If any of you have better ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks!

u said u didn't want to use insulation foam, but is EVA Faom ok?
if so, this material is very bendable when heated up, which u can use to make a cylindrical shape with. the material is naturally smooth(one side is, the other side is not) so u do not have to sand it with power tools, u might need to cut it with a box cutter though(maybe u can do that part?).
if not u can use some metal chicken wire to get it in the correct shape and putting paper mache over it.

[Help] EVA Foam is cheap.. Or so I thought? [R]

So I'm fairly new to the cosplay scene, I've sewn my own costumes and such but now I'm trying to tackle a new challenge- making a weapon. I found some great tutorials online and a lot recommend EVA Foam. The shops that the tutorials recommend are in Europe, but I'm over in America... When I was about to make the purchase, I found out shipping was almost as much as the foam I was buying.

What I was wondering is if there's a shop either with shipping that isn't $30 with the high density EVA foam, or isn't in Europe at all. I did try scrolling through EBay and Amazon, but I think I might be putting in a wrong search because most of the stuff I'm getting is that kid's craft foam, and then some of the picture shows it rolled up pretty tightly (which I'm not sure if that matters).

Basically as a TL;DR, I'm just looking for an EVA Supplier that ships in or to the US for less than $30, for a price that isn't crazy.

Edit; Actually if there's something similar to EVA Foam that is about as easy to work with, I'd be open to suggestions for that too. I'll be making a Gun out of it, so there was going to be the foam itself plus some pvc piping.

Amazon Prime beats most retail stores, even Walmart and Home Depot. You're looking for anti-fatigue mats for about $20-25.

Another option that could work is foam board. It's cheap and light, but I would caution that some paints can dissolve it. 4ftx8ft piece is about $10. I once had a 6' prop scythe that was foam board with paper mache reinforcement that I could swing pretty forcefully. Not quite the same but a PVC skeleton could work just as well.
