Pan lubing .223 bullets? [R]2 years, 1 month agoBareen posted submission on castboolits.
May 22, 2018
Just tried my first foray into using traditional lube instead of powder coat on my gas checked Lee .225” 55gr FP bullets.
What a mess. I have no lubrisizer so I went with the pan lube method, using Felix lube. Couldn’t get the buggers to stand up in the tray. A bunch fell over and got totally submerged.
Is there some better way to fill lube grooves without a lubrisizer? I’m open to suggestions.
May 22, 2018
.223 are going to be pretty hard to pan lube no matter what because of the small size mixed with the length. You could dip the bullets into liquid lube, but doing that is pretty slow and not really something you will want to to with bullets you will shoot mainly in bulk.
Another option would be use some small wire strung across the pan to form a grid pattern, drop the boolits in nose up to each square before pouring lube into the pan. Along the same lines as that, a baking cooing rack or some hardware cloth should work great and be easier than wire.
That said, is there a reason that you don't want to powder coat the .223 bullets?
First time baking. As it turns out, wax paper is not the same as parchment paper. [R]3 years, 5 months agoanymooseposter posted submission on Breadit.

I'm an old hand at pretzel making. Throw away the paper, and bake your pretzels on these on cookie sheets. They'll allow a little air to circulate on the bottom, while letting excess water from the bath to drain through without making a sticky glue. Your pretzels will come right off the rack with a lovely cross pattern on the bottoms.
LPT: Crumple your aluminum foil for crispier frozen fries that are easier to flip. [R]3 years, 7 months agoNov. 26, 2016
Crumpling the foil crinkles it, so it has less surface area to make contact with the fries. This makes them stick less, crispier and less likely to be burnt. Also works with taquitos, fishsticks and other types of lazyman's food.
Edit: jebus this blew up. From the comments:
Alright, it's aluminium... the one time autocorrect failed me.
No, were not frying the fries, nor using cooling racks!
It's been debunked, though I still notice a difference.
None of this matters because aluminum is toxic and parchment paper is better!
Edit 2: Front page while I was asleep. (There's a lounge!)
Edit III: aluminum is right too. We're good again, autocorrect.

I want to buy a baking rack to cook some wings in the oven. Is there any you have bought online? I searched through Amazon but have seen some conflicting reviews.
[Contest] So you can't enter the Exchange? [R]5 years agonijoli posted submission on Random_Acts_Of_Amazon.

Contest closed! I'll announce the winners soon.
With everyone excited to join into the new Exchange (Myself included. First one!), we much keep in mind that not everyone can join the Exchange right now. So whether it because you just don't have the time, the money, or because you're new. This contest is for you.
So to enter this contest you 'enter' one of the three Exhange choices (Copy and pasted due to lazy):
- Reading Exchange - Books, ebooks, bookends, bookmarks, library scented candles...! Etc.
- Fandom Exchange - Get your geek on!
- New Hobby Exchange - Each participant tells a hobby they want to get into, and their match gets them something related to it.
Choose one of the topics (Please use exact phrasing, it'll be the raffle words), then say something on your wishlist that fulfills that category. I can't guarantee you'll get that item, and there's no price point yet. I'm really winging this whole thing. There also may or may not be three winners sooo....
Contest ends Thursday, June 18th. Sometime at night after I've settled down after dinner.

What a great contest!
I would like to enter your New Hobby Exchange - Each participant tells a hobby they want to get into, and their match gets them something related to it.
BAKING is my new hobby. I have always cooked but now I am entering a new realm that requires cooking racks and sifters! Here is what I would love - an $8 cooling rack!

To make this a little easier, you can use a non-stick baking rack to help the berries dry evenly. You won't have to worry about them sticking or having to flip them to get both sides dehydrated.
I use this technique when making homemade "sun-dried" tomatoes.

I make these just like that. Throw them in the oven around 425-450 for maybe 30-45 minutes. I always wing it, so I can never remember exactly, but just bake until the peppers are nice and soft. Also, if you have a cooling rack you can put them on that and then on top of a cookie sheet so that the grease has somewhere to go and the bacon isn't just soaking in it.
[Contest] Link me to something that helps you relieve stress. [R]6 years, 4 months agoPCBreakdown posted submission on Random_Acts_Of_Amazon.
Feb. 12, 2014
Contest is closed. Thanks to everyone who entered, it wasn't easy to decide, but the winner is /u/poorrusty!! Thanks to everyon who entered!
Rules: I want to see what you use to de-stress on a regular basis. I have 5 kids, and when they go to bed at night, I want something to ease my stress. So what I want you all to do is to link me something on your wishlist (I'd prefer it to remain around $15, but understand that some stress relievers will cost more) that you think will help me relax every night. It can be absolutely anything, and whoever I pick will get their item and I'll buy one for myself as well.
I'll be closing this contest sometime in the next 24 hours, most likely sometime tomorrow morning or early afternoon (EST).
I will be choosing the winner based on whether I think the item will help me in times of stress, but just in case I can't decide, then include the raffle phrase "GO TO BED, KIDS!" because that's what I say on a nightly basis, haha.
[FP] This is the easiest way to cook a lot of bacon. No more pan frying for me! [R]6 years, 10 months agopooltable posted submission on keto.

This was so much easier than pan frying. I lined a baking sheet with foil and baked the bacon at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. Drain on paper towels and enjoy!
Be sure to use a baking sheet with sides (aka a jelly roll pan) so you don't have grease dripping everywhere in your oven.

Left my Dalton Boots outside in the rain overnight, tips on drying out with little damage? [R]7 years, 2 months agoBobatt posted submission on malefashionadvice.

Not sure how much it rained, but they're nice and soaked. I have them stuffed with dish towels and a cool fan running on them. What are your thoughts for drying $400 boots you left in the rain?
April 11, 2013
All these guys are right: stuff them with newspaper and let them dry out slowly. I'd like to add that you should probably move the boots around a bit, put them on their sides, then soles, then the other side and so on to avoid leaving any wet spots in contact with the floor. If you want to be extra fancy, put them on a cooling rack to help the air circulate. You may want to replace the newspaper with fresh after the first day.
I left my welted, leather soled, calfskin cowboy boots soaking wet and covered in mud last summer for a week or two. The insoles went moldy, but after a clean with some diluted bleach and a reconditioning with some Lexol they're fine.
