Super Mario 3D World needs to be ported to the Nintendo Switch. [R]10 months, 3 weeks agohepatitisC posted submission on NintendoSwitch.

>But one cannot buy the game physically anymore brand new. The Wii U is dead. Soon they'll probably discontinue e-Shop in the next few years.
I can keep going if you want but I hope you see the point. The logic you provided is baseless. There's also no evidence to support the eShop closing down anytime soon and historically we'd be several years at minimum from it happening. There are millions of copies of the game sold so there's really no need to port it to preserve it.
Point blank every time Nintendo ports a game, they are taking resources that could be used to build new titles to do it. They don't outsource to panic button or anybody else. They do their own ports using their development teams. There's absolutely no reason to port more Wii U titles when the longevity of this console will come from innovative new titles. If this is just going to be Wii U portable, then it's going to alienate a large portion of their user base.

1) Nintendo.com - $200 Refurbished from Nintendo. Includes Nintendo Land
2) Purchase an external hard drive.
3) Target - Price match it against Amazon.com and try to get the $15 off promo to bring it down to $33.27 (pre-tax)
4) Nintendo.com again - $25 Refurbished. Includes Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuk, and Wii Remote Jacket.
What to do with 50 dollars? [R]4 years, 10 months agoVinterm posted submission on wiiu.

So I recently got a refurbished wii u! I adore it to death - I bought Mario Kart 8 and Windwaker with it, along with Shovel Knight and Earthbound. I have 50 dollars left over and I'm not sure exactly what to do with it: I like the idea of buying a pro controller and using an adaptor for PC gaming, but I also like the idea of buying some more games. I also really only like difficult or long games or at least something with a lot of replay value. What should I get?
Aug. 3, 2014
It's pretty long, it has a lot of tough bonus levels and I'm not one to 100% games but this is one that is fun to try it with! Tons of replay value and its also fun with friends.
Pikmin 3 is nice also... but you could get a few games like Mass Effect 3, Assassins Creed IV, and Monster Hunter for like $50 total.

Howdy, I'm just doing this on my phone because my laptop's broken, so bare with me. I have four game codes for Steam, and I was wondering if you guys wanted them.
If you do, just tell me which game, and I'll raffle them.
The games are:
Party Of Sin
Edit: Also, to make it related to Amazon, link a game from Amazon that you've always wanted to play!

Just an empty thread for people to test in.
Edit: If you want to look up multiple items, it might be better to search on my website instead. It will be faster and you can cross shop (e.g; see pricing on amazon, newegg, staples, etc) instead of just the url posted.
Edit2: Anything you search for, the robot will then try to index. e.g; User searched here and there was no match. The robot then added the item to the database and starts monitoring it. Given enough user activity (on reddit and on the website) the robot should be able to know and track all products.

Target ad also shows a handful of newer games at the same price. Most of them have been on sale at this price or below before, but this is the cheapest I have seen 3D World by $10.

As the title says, I feel like buying someone or multiple people video games. I don't care what platform it's for, just link me a game on Amazon that you want and tell me why it's special. If you're a PC gamer and would rather have a game via Steam/Origin I can go that route as well, just link it from Amazon and notate appropriately.
Raffle phrase if I can't decide myself: I'm falling asleep at my desk
Contest ends Friday the 13th at noon central (UTC -0600).
EDIT: Holy hell you guys really like video games! I promise I'm reading each of your responses, but I'm having a busy work day today and may not get to respond to each of you as I'd like to. Also, I have Amazon Prime so I'm hoping that I can get people stuff in time for Xmas.
Contest Closed: I'll announce the winner/s by the end of the day.

Work wasn't so bad today. I don't work Thanksgiving but I do work 12am-8am Black Friday. Yay ^onlynot. Sad thing is that they won't pay extra for that day; just Thanksgiving and I missed out on that. I don't work until 2pm tomorrow so I get to sleep in a bit, not to mention that I only work late shifts next week. WTF is up with that?
Got a mystery package in the mail. Opened it up and what is inside? LEGO STAR WARS ADVENT CALENDAR. I was confused for a moment because it was A: from the LEGO site and B: not something on my WL and not many of you fine folks have my address. It was from my dad. He knows me so well cause that makes me ridiculously happy to have. I had been looking at one at work just a few days ago.
I really really want this game and should have bought it today. It looks like so much fun. Maybe after Christmas...or if they have a really good sale on games.

On a starry night in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Blue Toad take a walk outside of Princess Peach's Castle when they discover a slanted Clear Pipe along the path. Mario and Luigi fix the Clear Pipe with hammers and wrenches, and the Sprixie Princess, a green fairy-like creature, pops out in front of them and starts to frantically ask for help. Suddenly, Bowser, who emerges from the pipe; finds the Sprixie Princess and captures her inside a bottle before disappearing back down the pipe with her. Mario and the group enter the pipe to pursue Bowser. They end up in the Sprixie Kingdom, where the journey mainly takes place.
Characters (+ Skills)
Mario - The Mushroom Kingdom's greatest hero! The balanced character.
Luigi - The hero's brother! Awesome in his own right. Has a higher jump.
Princess Peach - The fair ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. Usually the damsel in distress, but now the heroine. Ability to float.
Toad - One of the humble servants to the Princess. Runs really fast - good for speed runs!
Captain Toad - Leader of the Toad Brigade, better known from the Mario Galaxy games. Has his own specially-designed levels.

Super Bell: The Super Bell transforms Mario and the gang into Cats. In Cat form, you can climb up walls, slide into enemies, attack in midair, and even climb up Flag Poles.

Hey guys, Sylverstone here.
As you may have witnessed, the embargo for reviews of Nintendo's Super Mario 3D World has now been lifted.
However, to combat a growing amount of review posts (plus to use the very handy sticky post feature), all reviews will be posted here with their review scores hidden by a spoiler tag.
Please post links to reviews in here so it can be added to the OP!
This post will also double as an launch window advisory post for those who are getting the game this week - you are free to have discussion posts about it, but remember that you must tag your threads for spoiler content (preferably with the spoiler link flair) and use spoiler tags when necessary. Instructions on how to make spoiler tags are on the sidebar. Message the mods for specific spoiler link flair in regards to SM3DW, and we shall do it in a timely fashion.
Huge thanks to the folks at NeoGAF for their own SM3DW review thread, where I borrowed a few elements of design. Hats off to you.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 successfully iterated on one of the most inventive platformers of the last console generation. Super Mario 3D World takes slightly smaller steps in the grand scheme of the platformer genre, but it fulfills the promise of a multiplayer Mario much better than anything that the Japanese game maker has done before. Super Mario 3D World is marvelous, and its constant variety and fantastic light-hearted co-op play proves that Nintendo still knows exactly how to tweak their Mario formula in fun ways.
Super Mario 3D World can be easily summarised — it’s a terrifically enjoyable, tight and impeccably structured experience. It recalls the mascot’s 3D heritage while providing the perfect starting point for those that prefer 2D platforming, catering to an audience of beginners and skilled veterans alike. Nintendo’s also mastered Mario multiplayer for, arguably, the first time; it’s still manic and can be either co-operative or competitive, but there’s also a sense of space that allows determined groups to progress coherently. This is a definitive 3D Mario experience, successfully finding a middle-ground between the iconic Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. You may not swing Bowser by his tail or run upside down, but it’s bursting with creativity nonetheless, while delivering on the craft and skill that defines the Tokyo EAD studio. It’s unmissable.
Super Mario 3D World doesn't reinvent the Mario formula. But it is in every way its own game, with a bright, joyful aesthetic that's supported by inspired level design and a cast that matters. It gets the balance right between nostalgic touches and clever new twists, and never once let me down with a boring boss or too-familiar retread. In all my years of playing with the Mario gang, I've never been quite so happy to hurl myself into the unknown, and 3D World delivers challenge, surprise and joy in almost every moment.
SM3DW is a fantastic game. Just...fun, from beginning to "end". I had a smile on my face almost the entire time. It's packed with charm from front to back, contains some memorable levels and provides seamless multiplayer fun. If you own a Wii U, congratulations, your wait for a truly special game for the system is over. It's just a shame that it couldn't do a better job of evangelising the platform for those still on the sidelines. Then again, if somebody can't get excited about one of the best Nintendo games in years, there's no helping them.
Mario 3D World is the first truly new Mario. With its mass of novelty, leads an unexpected breath of fresh air and brings back one of the most important series in the history of video games, for once, proving that you can do much more with the mustachioed plumber who obsessively try to improve the formula that has made him famous in the past.
Perhaps that's the crux of Super Mario 3D World. So many of its ideas are drawn from older games (the characters from Mario Bros. 2, the structure of Super Mario 3D Land, the multiplayer of New Super Mario Bros. and the platforms and enemies of almost every previous game) that it might seem as though this is somewhat backwards-looking. But it's in the repurposed, reimagined nature of each, not to mention in slamming them together just to see what happens, that new ideas emerge. It's a game that feels totally familiar both in the elements we recognise and in the fact that there's far more beyond them. It seems, after you spend so many years espousing the cult of invention above all things, that becomes a religion in itself. Praise be.
Sure, co-op play is hardly a game changer, but when so much of 3D World is so successfully built upon a bevy of brilliant ideas, this can be forgiven. Everything that you can see and do within its enchanting levels is so bright, colourful, and full of wonder that it's impossible not to be taken in by its charms. Mario has always had that uncanny ability to cross the boundaries of age and gender, to bring a smile to the face of every player who crosses his path. Super Mario 3D World is no different. This is a dazzlingly inventive game that brings the fun in spades, and will leave you grinning like a loon from start to finish.
Put simply, Super Mario 3D World is stunning. Its world is beautiful, its design is impeccable, and its fun is infectious. I'm running out of superlatives here, so let me finish where I started: Go play it.
It seems odd that Nintendo should release a Mariohelmed game at all in a year supposedly devoted to his brother, let alone one that should prove to be Wii U’s best game to date. Yet there is more than fraternal rivalry at stake here. In the same month that its platform holder rivals debut their new hardware, Nintendo has issued a timely reminder that it is games that sell systems, while also setting a new visual benchmark for the most treasured series in gaming. This is Mario like you’ve never seen him before, and unlike so many of his next-gen rivals, he nips along at an effortless 60fps. If the true measure of new hardware’s worth is how stark the difference is between it and what came before, then this is the most next-gen game that 2013 has yet produced.
If Super Mario 3D World lacks the grand scale and ambition of the Galaxy games, it's a comfortable match in colour, pacing and variety - and in its moment-to-moment play, it comes shockingly close to beating them. Where it's undoubtedly superior is in its application of multiplayer: Galaxy's Costar mode was a charming addition, but it's comfortably trumped by the laughs and thrills you'll share with up to three others. It's perhaps best summed up by its soundtrack, where bouncy strings meet gently percussive tropical themes, chiming Christmas bells, jaunty accordions, and energetic shamisen and shakuhachi. While its rare orchestral manoeuvres are among the musical highlights, it's telling that there's little of Galaxy's bombast. As the fervour for next-gen hardware reaches its crescendo, EAD Tokyo has quietly gone about the business of making the best game you'll play this Christmas. There's no clarion call of trumpets to herald the arrival of Super Mario 3D World. And yet, of all the games released in the next couple of months, it might deserve the biggest fanfare of them all.
Nintendo is a company faced with a seemingly impossible task over and over again: remixing nostalgia. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. This means Nintendo is constantly trying to reinvent what's come before without betraying the long-standing reasons people are there in the first place. It’s hampered The Legend of Zelda series for years, but the team behind Super Mario Galaxy has shown how to pull this daunting challenge off over and over again. Super Mario Galaxy was both an evolutionary and revolutionary approach to a Mario game, finding new ways to make Mario fun to play with in 3D. Super Mario 3D Land, however, reinvented the very concept of playing a 2D Mario game set within a 3D space. This team’s latest, Super Mario 3D World, explores this idea even further. In short, Super Mario 3D World is terrific.
