Sorry guys, this is probably a really silly question... Are you planning to have your ring professionally cleaned/polished before the wedding? Cheap ultrasonic cleaner - is it good? (+other options) [R]

Hey,

I've found some cheap ultrasonic cleaners around the web and i would like to know if they're powerful enough to clean attys and glass juice bottles.

My options are: This one from efun for 10U$ + 10U$ shipping https://www.efun.top/atomizer-ultrasonic-cleaner.html

This one from gearbest for 33U$, prob free shipping or 5U$ http://www.gearbest.com/other-tools/pp_299050.html?wid=21

This one for about 30U$ total https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/EU-US-30W-50W-220V-110V-Mini-Ultrasonic-Cleaner-Bath-For-Cleanning-Jewelry-Watch-Glasses-Circuit/32756719307.html?spm=2114.02010208.3.1.M6EY5E&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_2_10065_10000073_10068_10000074_10000032_119_10000030_10000026_10000023_10000069_10000068_10060_10062_10056_10055_10000062_10054_10000063_10059_10099_10000020_10000013_10103_10102_10000016_10096_10000056_10000059_10052_10053_10107_10050_10106_10051_10000097_10000094_10000053_10000007_10000050_10084_10083_10000100_10000047_10080_10082_10081_10110_10111_10112_10113_10114_10115_10000041_10000044_10078_10079_10000038_10073_10000035_10122_10121,searchweb201603_7,afswitch_2,ppcSwitch_5,single_sort_1_default&btsid=d4e0560b-bd6c-427c-a711-89c67dd2c17d

Or i can wait and purchase this from cigabuy 22U$ + 10 or 20 U$ shipping http://www.cigabuy.com/authentic-vaporesso-ultrasonic-cleaner-for-rta-rda-p-9483.html

Also can get other ones from fasttech, they have the vaporesso one for 40U$

So would like to know what's the main differences between, if you guys think it's worth to spend more or should i just get a cheap one?

Thanks a lot!

This one used to be cheaper on amazon. I think you can look it up on camel camel camel to see its price fluctations. It's been recommended quite often on here over the years. If you have the patience maybe you can wait until the price drops on this bad boy. But most of these jewlery cleaners, at least the ones with the similar dimensions, are rebrands. Kind of like those TDS and PH meters you get for your pool, there's a ton of them on amazon and ebay etc. most will perform fairly similar. (you get what you pay for).

Got a little excited and ordered a ton of ink samples, but...will they stain my TWSBI 580? [R]

2 years, 6 months agowelcmhm posted submission on fountainpens.
Jan. 30, 2017

Hey! So, I feel like I live here now. Hope you guys don't mind that I moved on in and immediately got comfy and chatty.

So, I purchased my very first quality FP - a TWSBI 580. It should be here in the next few days.

Then I promptly ordered 15 samples, but then had a realization that some might stain my newly beloved.

What ink properties, hues, etc should I look out for when purchasing inks that would be indicative of a staining color?

More importantly, before I accidentally stain the barrel with any of my recently acquired samples, which of the following might be a no-go?

  • Noodler's Heart of Darkness
  • Noodler's Dark Matter
  • Noodler's 54th Massachusetts
  • Robert Oster Purple Rock
  • Robert Oster Direct Sun
  • Diamine Sargasso Sea
  • Diamine Sherwood Green
  • Diamine Inferno Orange
  • Diamine Night Sky
  • Diamine Moon Dust
  • Diamine Sunset
  • Diamine Tyrian Purple
  • Diamine Ancient Copper
  • Diamine Amazing Amethyst
  • Rohrer & Klingner Morinda
  • Rohrer & Klingner Solferino

More, more importantly - toss me some more ink suggestions!

2 years, 6 months agowelcmhm posted on fountainpens.
Jan. 30, 2017

You shouldn't have a problem with Solferino. I had that in my Pelikan M1005 for a few weeks and didn't have a problem (other than the little area in the section near the nib, but that's specific to the physical design of that pen).

If you really want to make sure that your demonstrators are kept clean, learn how to disassemble them and consider investing in a cheap ultrasonic jewelry cleaner (I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HZVYAVM/ref=srph1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485818656&sr=sr-1&keywords=ultrasonic) and it was a very worthwhile purchase for me (I want to keep my demonstrators clean and that M1005 is pretty tough).

Everyone should have one of these. [R]

Moth layer symptoms came back. ER again and basically rinse and repeat. I started to notice that vaping brought back the symptoms almost the next day.

So this time i wait a bit longer to start vaping. Again I start feeling symptoms. I put 2 & 2 together and decide to scrub my atty (a different one actually.) and switch juices to a sealed glass bottle. Win. Blowing clouds like a champ again and no return ER visit.

Question on water damage [R]

iPhone 6 came in from a family member, less than 24 hours wet, still moist inside. I tore it open real quick and tossed the board in 91% IPO. Charge port screws are a little rusty. I'm thinking battery, charge port, and IPO soak for 24 hours, then letting it dry for 48 hours. What do you think my chances are? Any other tips? This is to save the phone temporarily, and I'm only charging her $75, $25 non refundable. I don't have an ultrasonic machine but I don't think I need one since it's still wet.

The only way I clean my chain is taking it off entirely and putting it into https://www.amazon.com/Magnasonic-Professional-Ultrasonic-Cleaning-Eyeglasses/dp/B00HZVYAVM/ref=aslisstl?ie=UTF8&qid=1466917068&sr=8-3&captchaverified=1&&linkCode=ll1&tag=zvnfhlebcd-20&linkId=79dfc5fc5c178effaf6c8cc181f80787 one of these with whatever cleaner you like, I've used a citrus degrease and simple green, both seemed great. Nothing has done as good of a job.

Once clean and dry, I drop the chain https://www.amazon.com/Finish-Line-Teflon-Bicycle-Chain/dp/B001C65JTI/ref=aslisstl?ie=UTF8&dpID=41o1%2B61WiNL&dpSrc=sims&preST=ACUL320SR228%2C320_&refRID=K1R5QAN4QBMDASZA7E1S&linkCode=ll1&tag=zvnfhlebcd-20&linkId=234fed43a001a1ff9268cc524ceea17e into this and shake the chain around with the lid on tight. I then hang the chain over the container with the ends of the chain just over the opening of the bottle, a funnel can help here but I never needed it.

Chains come out super clean, extremely well lubricated, and I absolutely love this lube. The only thing I've liked better is paraffin wax in certain respects but much sooner reapplication is needed which can be annoying.

You can fit cassettes in these ultrasonic cleaners as well, does a great job.

New to Claptons - any way to keep them clean longer? [R]

3 years, 8 months agoDec. 22, 2015

I recently built my first fused Clapton. This is my first adventure into what I would call "exotic" coils. The build shown in the pictures linked below is a 0.3 ohm 6 wrap around a 3mm pin. It's a 24ga core wrapped with 36ga nichrome. I love the performance and flavor of the build, but I'm finding that it gets dirty much faster than a traditional coil. I believe this is due to the increase of residual heat that the coil holds onto. Vapor production continues for several seconds after releasing the button. Smaller coils seem to cool much faster. I could be completely wrong on this being the cause.

After 2 days, my build looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/2Zt0RrJ.jpg

And after dry burning and new cotton: http://i.imgur.com/R18d5p6.jpg

Is there any way to combat this accelerated gunking? I've gone from cleaning once a week to once every 2-3 days.

cant do much besides switch juice if you want them to gunk less. however, and amazing tool to clean them is an ultrasonic cleaner. just dry burn and rinse off. plop the entire deck into the cleaner with some soap and water for 5-6 mins, rinse well, wick, vape.

edit: idek if this is a good mod but i like the cylinder style compared to the box style of the mvp. edit 2: also, I'm well aware looks aren't even close to being as important as functionality i just prefer well designed products.

The local shop I visit calls hybrids "thermal detonators" from Star Wars. If you are looking for just a giant flat surface on four legs, the IKEA table bar system is perfect. You pick the size an finish of the table surface and go look for legs you want.

For ultrasonic cleaners, I just bought the one with the best reviews under $30, this one, you can get the same thing with a timer control for $10 more.

Looking for an "Eyeglasses Washer" [R]

I am looking for an "Eyeglasses Washer". Something similar to a dish washer but much smaller and for eye glasses.

Big enough to fit 4 pairs of eye glasses.

So whenever my eyeglasses become dirty, I can put them in it and it cleans them for me in under 5 mins or so.

Does such a thing exist?
