>It's an FX-8, so you need at the very least a mid-high range 4-phase board or lower end 8 phase board to run it without throttling. A dinky $45 matx aboard isnt going to cover it.

No you don't. I have my 8320 wound up to 4.5GHz on this piece of shit..

Upgrading very old CPU,Motherboard, and RAM. (~6 years) [R]

Hi wanted to get some thoughts on parts that I found on Newegg that I was thinking about purchasing.

The things I use my Pc for are: Gaming(Wow,LoL,H1Z1,CSGO,HOTS,and other random steam games),Internet Browsing, and schoolwork. Nothing insanely demanding. CSGO is the main issue for me since its so CPU heavy.

The main problem I am having right now is that I get VERY inconsistent frames on lowest possible settings with games and things are kind of slow outside the gaming aspect of my PC usage. The graphics are not really my concern at this point, I just want to have a lot of frames on whatever Game I Play.

~$400 budget

Newegg Parts: CPU & Motherboard:

Current PC Specs:

Got this PC in 2011 so the information is as close as I can get it. I'm also not very knowledgeable in PC parts, and made a reddit post to originally get a solid part list.

P.S.-Sorry if the format is bad

Edit:Thank you guys so much for the replies so soon! I read all of them and am currently seeing what I am gonna do. Pretty sure this is my current motherboard:

I honestly don't know lol. I can look at it and see that it says Asus and I know my RAM is DDR3 but by the looks of it, I'd say it would be this one:

Although I'm not 100% sure on that it does look VERY similar to mine

Will this graphics card work with this motherboard? [R]

Will this graphics card work with this motherboard? I have done some research and i can not find a answer either way.

So you want to run two of the cards at the same time? In that case, no. Your motherboard does not support Crossfire.

If you're looking to improve gaming performance, two HD5770's is not really the way to do it anyway. For $80 you can get something with 100x the performance.

Also, for future reference, if you want to hyperlink something you do it like this;

>Will this [graphics card]( work with this [motherboard](

When you do it like that, it'll appear as

>Will this graphics card work with this motherboard?

Simple Questions - August 29, 2016 [R]

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
  • I'm thinking of getting a GTX 970. Which one should I get?
  • I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case < $50

Remember that IRC is a great place to ask quick questions as well:

Hello, I was wondering if someone could please help me find a Motherboard compatible for with my CPU and Graphics Card. My CPU is a AMD FX-6100 6-Core 3.3 GHz (AM3+ Socket ) and my graphics card is a EVGA GTX 970. I was looking at the ASUS Motherboard below, but not sure if that will bottleneck its performance or if its a very good motherboard. If that is no good, i am looking for something less than $100 if possible. Thanks

This would be my first budget gaming PC that I would have built, will all these components work together? I see that the processor and the case are going out of stock, anything else that you would suggest? Thanks.

Hi. Check out this list:

I would not get that motherboard as it only supports up to 1333mhz RAM and doesn't have 6gb/s SATA ports. This ASUS motherboard would be better, although it also doesn't have 6gb/s SATA. But I can't find any mATX motherboards on Amazon that have USB 3.0, SATA 6, decent RAM support, etc.

I would look into getting an IPS monitor.

I highly suggest a semi-modular/modular psu since your build is mATX.
