Total budget and country of purchase: $1200. This isn't a hard boundary, but would like to keep it as close to this or below.
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I prefer best specifications for the money. Most of the time I worked while plugged in.
How important is weight and thinness to you? I'd say medium importance. I want to be able to pick up and work anywhere, but I'm willing to carry it.
Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15"
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Light photo editing and gaming. I'm just starting with photography and have been using iPhoto, but looking on moving on from this to something else. Overwatch and Civ6. Most of the time I will be editing documents and writing.
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Overwatch and Civ6. Settings on low to medium.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Good keyboard, good screen, and reliable build quality. I had my last laptop for 10 years and would like the next to last at least half of that.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I'm taking some grad classes to get a certification, then going to get a masters in Educational Technology. So most of the time I will be creating lesson plans, grading, and writing. Just light gaming and some photo editing on the side.
